About Gold Dust Gala

Dear Neighbor,

Today, the headlines are grim: An estimated 47 million Americans do not have healthcare coverage. Sadly, many of these are women who simply do not even have the means for a yearly screening. A decade
ago, I underwent a mammogram, ultrasound, biopsy and surgical procedure through The Breast Center located at Community Memorial
Hospital. I was fortunate on many levels; one of which was I had insurance and access to the comprehensive, quality care offered at
the hospital.

Funding our distinctive breast health program at CMHS has never been more critical. While the national statistics are daunting, they underscore the need for our continued efforts to support the life-saving services offered at The Breast Center. Net proceeds raised at the Gold Dust Gala provide mammograms, ultrasound, biopsy procedures, and surgical intervention (if needed) to uninsured and under-insured women in our area. Unlike other services, our unique program also provides mammograms and necessary care for women who are under the age of 40.

We know where you decide to donate your charitable dollars is important and deeply personal. By par tnering with area businesses, local leaders and our innumerable private donors, you will have the trust of knowing your donation is staying within the community to help a myriad of area women. One could be your landscaper’s wife, as in the
case of Adriana Contreras, or your child’s day care provider, such as Amanda Gonzales-Van Buren.

Through your generosity and support of our life-saving services, you single-handedly can have a positive, profound impact on the lives of countless women who have nowhere else to turn. Won’t you please join us in our efforts?

Warm Regards,
Margie Stites
